shop=department_store and mall in one filter ?

Asked by Thilo

Hi there,

the difference between the shopping centers
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:shop%3Ddepartment_store
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:shop%3Dmall
doesn't really exist in Germany, as the main difference is if it's the same proprietor or not.

It seems that currently the correspondent filter
just contains "mall", but not "department_store",
while it would be available in nominatim ? :
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Nominatim/Special_Phrases/EN

As there are a couple of big shopping centers
("malls" of the same "brand" / proprietor, similar to Walmart, but more diverse),
there are many which can't be found with uNav (as there's no filter for "department_store").

Also see :

Examples :

104 shopping centers "Galeria Kaufhof"
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaufhof
"Karstadt Warenhaus GmbH comprises 83 department stores"

Cheers,
Thilo

Hi Thilo,
I'm so sorry, but I don't want to generate 2 request to OSM (in the same
second) for 1 POI.
Thanks for your feedback anyway.
Costales.

May then a 2nd POI be created ?

German translation : Kaufhaus (instead of "Einkaufszentrum"), see
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DE:Tag:shop%3Ddepartment_store
