Coordinates in degrees and minutes

Asked by a.rudolph

For Geocaching I would like to have the coordinates by the usual format in degrees and minutes. For example N50°25.123' E006°45.000'. Usually you get this format from "Geocaching.com" to parking the car nearby the Cache. I don't like each time to convert the coordinates from the Geocaching format into Dezimal or Sexagesimal. Could it possible to get the format in uNav? That would be great!!

While I'm looking to this, you have the decimal coordinates too :)

If you look on "Driving Directions" button:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&saddr=&daddr=43.539283,-5.663283(6+de+Agosto)

@a.rudolph: Do you know to install an installer file?

I am not a software expert, but sometimes I used installer files to work with the Ubuntu desktop system.

Don't worry then :)
I'll adapt the Sexadecimal to allow your coordenates (seconds will be empty).

Fixed in release 0.49

For example:
https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC5913Z_6-de-agosto
N 43° 32.357 W 005° 39.797

Use this in uNav: Coordinates > Sexagesimal:
Lat 43º 32.357' Empty" N
Lng 5º 39.797' Empty" W

Enjoy it :)) and thanks for your feedback!

Yes, it is working for me. I'm happy to have it.

But could you make it more comfortable.
If I input the coordinates , I must always switch by every step between the letter keypad and the alphanumerical keypad.

Hi Rudolph!

I would like to catch geocaching URLs with lat and lon.

As user, I would like to ask you, how will be a geocaching URL with
the position?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Costales,

for position I use way-points with coordinates.

What I'm doing before Geocaching:

1. Log in by www.geocaching.com .
2. Download GPX files from the Geocaches to my Ubuntu PC operating system. Or I download a Pocket Query (a summary of GPX files).
3. Open the GPX files with the Software QLandkarteGT and arrange my Geocaching-Tour.
4. Upload the arrange GPX file to my GPS-Outdoor device.
5. Open uNav on my smart phone. Input and favourite/store the way-point coordinates with the names of the Geocaches.

Nice to have:
Upload GPX files on the smart phone. Import way-points with coordinates into uNav.
A list to choose the waypoint-name and start navigate with uNav.

Best regards
