I have no idea how to customize Gnome, I am using KDE, so I cannot help you.

This question is rather appropriate to some Gnome list, as it is not related to UCK, but to Gnome customization. But maybe someone else here knows how to do it?

I am trying to do something similar, but instead of using alacarte I am simply trying to get the Debian menu to install. Using the UCK, after I get the programs installed that I am wanting, I use the command line to to further customize. I have apt-get installed menu, menu-xdg, and ran the update-menus command, which does not give an error, but once I burn the .ISO image, the Debian Menu is not there.

Can you help with this problem?
