"Starting console application..." Then nothing

After choosing, "Run console application", nothing happens. Process seemed hung.

At this point, I expect a terminal window where I can enter commands such as "apt-get update && apt-get install <package-name>" but I get nothing.

typing anything after, "Starting console application..." has no effect.

Just a blinking cursor and no action. Even tried, <q>, <[CTRL]+q> and <[ESC]> without any effect.

<[ALT]+[F4]> closed the window but nothing more.
