UCK without internet connection

Asked by Adam Lawrence

I'm currently trying to build a custom LiveCD using the Ubuntu Customisation Kit, however the VM I'm building it on has no internet connection. This is the nature of the environment, and instead my sources.list file contains references to a local repository "ubuntu-mirror".

I'm basically trying to get UCK to build the image without connecting to the internet, but instead referencing the local ubuntu repository. I've tried the following and none have been successful:

- Adding security.ubuntu.com and archive.ubuntu.com to the etc/hosts file and trying to resolve locally
- Commenting out the apt-get update line and using the command line to add packages later
- Hard coding the local mirror into the source

What would I need to do to successfully use this local mirror if at all possible?

Thank you.

Adam

Maybe you can download the debian package of gfxboot-theme-ubuntu to the localhost, and using 'tar -xzvf package' uncompressed it . Put the uncompressed package to the ~/tmp and run ./uck-gui. You try it !

Can you help with this problem?
