All Work in Gconf-Editor lost

Asked by Tabby

For the last several days i have been working on a build of an Ubuntu based Distro (yeah, that means I had UCK Open for several days). Well, yesterday I finally decided to actually make the ISO for this latest build.

To my dismay, when I tested it in VirtualBox, all of my edits made in Gconf were GONE. Not to also mention any other edits made with the appearance and such. I spent TWELVE HOURS on this and now all the work meant nothing. Can anyone think of ANY reason as to why this happened?

you should use the remastering scripts instead of the gui to do that kind of work

anyway did you save the home folder of the user inside the chroot environment? did you copy that folder in /etc/skel?

So there is a remastering script for doing specific things in gconf-editor?

So, why wasn't my work not saved? I don't get that.

that's why you lost everything, you should also check the logs, uck removed the home directory created during customization, because of many reasons

anyway you've to modify gconf settings in /etc/gconf or otherwise same the home folder to /etc/skel
