Use of UCK with alternate ubuntu version

I need to build a custom alternate cd with UCK.

For adding a package ... for example "WINE.DEB" the right procedure is as follow ? ? ? ? ?

sudo uck-remaster-unpack-iso /path/ubuntu7.04.iso
sudo uck-remaster-prepare-alternate

and now copy the "WINE.DEB" package in /home/user/tmp/remaster-iso/pool/extras/

after that

sudo uck-remaster-pack-iso

If I follow that procedure my NEW iso will contain the WINE package ?

The WINE package will installed during the setup ?

this is the procedure:

sudo uck-remaster-unpack-iso /path/ubuntu7.04.iso

copy the "WINE.DEB" package in /home/user/tmp/remaster-iso/pool/extras/

sudo uck-remaster-finalize-alternate
sudo uck-remaster-pack-iso

marked valid after translation

Why after the command: sudo uck-remaster-finalize-alternate

the system ask me a GPG-KEY-ID ? Is it necessary ?

it is, repository must be signed or the installer won't work

I've generated my GPG Key with KGpg

sudo uck-remaster-finalize-alternate myKeyID

now I'm installing the new iso generated to trying if the WINE.deb will be installed

I've installed the system with the new ISO but the package WINE isn't present.

Why?

you should check if the "release" files created by "finalize-alternate" are right, i'll try to do some tests in the next days to find if it's a bug

how can I check it ?

I found a few bugs in the alternate remastering scripts, fixed in the upcoming 2.0.1 release, anyway this bugs do not actually affect the installation of a package, which is handled by the preseed files thus you've to look in the isolinux.cfg (you'll find or change which preseed file to load) and then modify the chosen preseed file to make it install your packages

preseeding it's not a matter of uck thus find info in the right place, google has many answers to your question

UCK say place your deb file in /pool/extras and FINISH.

but only place file in that directory is NOT enought.

UCK for alternate is totally unuseful if it doesn't modify also the .seed file.
