How to create a minimal live cd with uck

Asked by Lothar

I want to demo a program and in order to keep the download to a minimum I try to create a minimal live CD based on Kubuntu Gutsy.

I tried several times to create a live cd with a minimal KDE desktop and I fail miserabely. If I e.g. decide to remove printing (not needed) it tries to remove the whole kde desktop and I end up with an unusable disk.

Does anybody know how to create a minimal KDE live CD where I can just add a program that I want to demo?

Could Ubuntu provide a minimal CD to be used as the source with uck, so that I only have to add the stuff I want instead of figuring out what is safe to remove?
