Regular GUI for UCK

Asked by Pierre

I would be able to prevent remaster-root files from being cleaned up at the end so I can go back to customizing and add new software, and build a new iso without unsquashing the file system again.

I saw a regular gui on the web, with button, etc. Is this available and would it allow me to do the above?

If not, I would like to create my own with 4 buttons/commands:
uck-gui (to unsquash and up to customizing, then, I would close the terminal)
uck-remaster-chroot-rootfs (to customize)
uck-remaster-finalize-alternate (to build the iso but not remove files)
uck-remaster-clean (to clean up files once I am finished for good with the remaster-root files)

Are these the correct command & would it work? Any files to edit?

Thanks.

Have a look at uckflow (cf. https://launchpad.net/~uck-team/+archive/uck-unstable) - it's based on the uck commands and provides a GUI that allows advanced usage (and especially re-customizations - that's what it was developed for.) I've not yet found time to check, whether this works on oneiric, but if you try it and come back with feedback, I'd be willing to look at it.

Thanks.

UCK 2.4.4 does not work with Oneiric. I just installed 2.4.5. Does flow 0.4.4.1 work with 2.4.5?

Haven't tested it - would assume it should. Might need a little bit of tweaking, but all the really hard stuff is done in the UCK commands.

The deb package would not install. It opens in gdebi but the Install button remains inactivie.

I tried adding the PPA but Synaptic cannot load it:

Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

that's because the oneiric repository was not ready, i just copied the binary packages to that, can you try now?

Can you help with this problem?
