Can I remove the "ubuntu-desktop" package?

If I want to change the window manager to another (openbox), is convenient or inconvenient to remove the "ubuntu-desktop" package?

sure you can remove it without problems, ubuntu-desktop is only a metapackage

I see: removing "ubuntu-desktop" is required to boot automatically on other window manager.
