How to edit the root folder?

I have been trying to edit the root .bashrc and the nautilus configs. but these changes does not stay when the iso is created.
 any idea how this can be achieved?

users folder can be edited replacing the /etc/skel directory, the root's one instead it's a bit difficult cause you've to do that using uck-remaster-* scripts instead of uck-gui, you've to stop the process before uck-remaster-pack-squashfs and do what you want with the root dir, then uck-remaster-pack-squashfs and uck-remaster-pack-iso
