Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 166

Asked by mvr

UCK 1.2 stops with after several Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 166 and others. Then I tried to use UCK 1.1, that had worked fine, and.. the same!. So this must be something in my system that has turned missconfigured, but I can't figure what it is.

I am (from the beginnig) using Kubuntu instaled in a particular way. I call you from grub for ntfs (bundled in topologilinux) and I keep 8 partitions on 2 HDs. Kubuntu is hdc4. I edited fstab so that I gain access to each of them. I've got some chrases but it seems that there are no errors in the file system. Also I've made a root user allowed to start X and I use it almost always, but I tried several times logged as a common user and sudo. More, first time with uck 1.1 I had to manually copy some files to uck directory (unionfs, mksquasfs...), so I did the same with uck 1.2 when problems arised.

With this configuration version 1.1 worked fine last week, but now none of them does. Now I can't run any script (already exe. marked) and I need to call them from a console. As original iso I am using the previously customizated one, hoping that no aditional download will be required.

Perhaps this happens just cause I'm still a beginner in Linux. Could you figure what's happening?

Thank you in advance and my gratefullness for developing such a usefull kit.

"X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device" is not an UCK error, it is not an error anyway, just a warning from X.
Your problem is creating home directory, please follow workaround in linked bug report.
