     You need to install the gfxboot-dev package on your hosting system.
(Das ist in der Annahme, dass du Ubuntu 10.10 auf einem Ubuntu 10.10 mit UCK anpassen willst und dass du dabei bereits die neueste UCK Version verwendest. Falls nicht und das Problem deshalb durch die Installation von gfxboot-dev nicht gelöst wird, müsstest du schon etwas präzisere Informationen über deine Umgebung und was genau du machen willst nachliefern..)

Ich habe gfxboot-dev installiert und anschließend einen symbolischen link für mkbootmsg erzeugt.
ln -s /usr/bin/gfxboot-compile /usr/bin/mkbootmsg

dann lief es

Es sollte eigentlich auch ohne den symbolischen Link funktionieren - das Makefile in gfxboot sucht zuerst nach dem neuen Befehl.
