did you remove language?
i think you've generated an ISO with your language bundled in, thus it's absolutely normal that the new ISO is bigger that the original.

It is possible if you have installed more packages than there was before.

Please post output of script so we can examine it.

I noticed that I always need to open a UCK terminal, go into /var/cache/apt/archives and delete all the *.deb files there....

Hi,
I have a similar problem. I have installed the italian language in edubuntu 7.10, removed all packages related to english and removed all win32 applications. When I generate the iso I obtain an image too big to fit in a cd. The only way to generate an image small enough is to remove some other packages like arabian, chinese fonts and so on. Any ideas?

Ps: with the normal ubuntu 7.10 I don't have this problem, but I think it's because the original iso is smaller than the edubuntu's.
