How to continue customizing ?

Asked by Fabrice PIERROT

Uck is a good program to customize the Ubuntu Live CD but,
i'm still looking for a way to continue a previous customization
Is it possible with uck to customize a liveCD and then take this
again to modify or add some softs/features ?

Regards
(and sorry for bad english :-/ )

Remastering already remestered CD should already be possible.

If you are looking for solution to partial CD remastering (unpack, change, change, pack), then it will be possible with UCK 2.0. You can help with testing this feature, UCK 2.0 beta version is already available.

great !

the uck2.0 allow the edition of a remastered CD

but the program decompress al the files each time :-(

it would be nice if the UCK could work with the filesystem already decompressed.

i mean, the UCK could skip the decompression phase, and the download phase, just
go to edition phase, and rebuild the new .iso

is such a thing possible ?

Yes, UCK 2.0 allows it, it is main feature of this release.
For details see webpage.

the best thing you can do is to use the remastering scripts without passing by uck-gui, scripts are pretty easy to use

uck-remaster-unpack-iso
uck-remaster-unpack-rootfs
uck-remaster-chroot-rootfs

and so on...
