Ubuntu update failure?

Is this project being closed the reason behind update-manager giving the following error?

W:Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/webupd8team/jupiter/ubuntu/dists/precise/main/source/Sources 404 Not Found

This project was closed years ago...

You're getting that error because Jupiter has been discontinued. Remove the PPA using the following command:
sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/webupd8team-jupiter*
