Does UbuntuOne always upload/download the entire file any time a change is made?

Asked by Brian Timoney

Does UbuntuOne always upload/download the entire file any time a change is made?

Are revisions kept of changes to files? Can you rollback to earlier versions of files?

Also are files/changes compressed when uploaded/downloaded?

If these features are not implemented, do you have plans to implement them?

I was comparing UbuntuOne with Dropbox and noticed that DropBox had these features but I would prefer to use UbuntuOne...

Thanks,

Brian

Hi Brian,

I'll try to answer each of your question below:

Does UbuntuOne always upload/download the entire file any time a change is made?
Yes, currently it does upload/download the entire file but we have plans to change this in the future.

Are revisions kept of changes to files? Can you rollback to earlier versions of files?
This actually goes along with the first question. We intend on implementing revisions of files for the next release of Ubuntu, Lucid Lynx.

Thank you,

Joshua
