When will Ubuntu One servers go open -source?

Asked by thebear424

Now that Ubuntu One cloud storage and music services have been shut down, Canonical has promised that all of Ubuntu One's code will go open-source. But, as of December 1, 2015, there has not been any source code released for the server side of Ubuntu One. When will Ubuntu One server code go open-source?

Hey thebear424,

The core of Ubuntu One servers is open source since around August 2015. There was an announcement, and it was opened under a different name: https://launchpad.net/filesync-server (mainly to avoid trademark issues with Ubuntu One).

Your question says you checked on December 1, 2015? Did you mean 2016? In any case maybe you missed the change in the project name.

Regards, Natalia.
