Permission to post copy of legal documents, please?

Asked by James Carroll

Canonical Legal Dept:

I would like to post annotated copies of the Terms of Service (ToS) and Privacy Statement for Ubuntu One. Documents would be hosted on docs.google.com and shared publicly. The annotations consist solely of highlighting: no textual changes will be made to the documents. If you'd like to see the annotations, please email me, and I will share the copies with you for review.

Thank you,
James Carroll

Hi James - You are welcome to make public comments about the Ubuntu One Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, but we would prefer that you not actually copy the documents and display publicly. These terms may be updated in the future and we'd like to only have to keep track of one copy or version of them. Also we wouldn't want Ubuntu One users to be confused at all about which terms actually apply to them. Thanks.

Can you help with this problem?
