Hi Einar,

Can you tell me what happens if you try running the following commands in a terminal session (Applications->Accessories->Terminal): killall ubuntuone-preferences ubuntuone-login; ubuntuone-preferences

Thank you,

Joshua

Hi Joshua, here comes what happens:
oh - I wanted to put in the snapshot of the terminal window but it doesn't work.
I will try with the button at the bottom *I'm providing more information'?
Maybe that works

No, it didn't work.
How can I send this snapshot to you?

Best regards
Einar

Oh, now I know. Jag har kopierat texten i terminalen. Här:

einar@einar-desktop:~$ killall ubuntuone-preferences ubuntuone-login; ubuntuone-preferences
ubuntuone-preferences: ingen process avslutad
ubuntuone-login: ingen process avslutad
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/ubuntuone-preferences", line 30, in <module>
    import httplib2
ImportError: No module named httplib2
einar@einar-desktop:~$

Ciao
Einar

Einar,

OK, I thought we addressed this problem for 9.04 (Jaunty) users. Here is the workaround (which I will be sure to write an FAQ entry for):

From a terminal session run the following commands:
sudo apt-get install python-httplib2
u1sdtool -q; killall ubuntuone-login; u1sdtool -c

This will install the missing httplib2 library and then attempt to start Ubuntu One, which should open your web browser and prompt you to add your computer to your Ubuntu One account.

Thank you,

Joshua

Dear Joshua, thank you very much for your attention.
Well I followed the above mentioned steps and this happened:
einar@einar-desktop:~$ sudo apt-get install python-httplib2
Läser paketlistor... Färdig
Bygger beroendeträd
Läser tillståndsinformation... Färdig
Följande NYA paket kommer att installeras:
  python-httplib2
Ställer in python-httplib2 (0.4.0-0ubuntu2) ...

Hanterar utlösare för python-support ...
einar@einar-desktop:~$ u1sdtool -q; killall ubuntuone-login; u1sdtool -c
ubuntuone-syncdaemon stopped.
ubuntuone-login: ingen process avslutad
einar@einar-desktop:~$
Now the icon is back in installations. When I push the button appears a small window: Ubuntu One Preferences
where I didn't change anything. But the icon does not appear under INTERNET. So the browser does not open.
Sorry
Einar

Dear Joshua,
is there really no solution to this question?
I did a snapshot from the crusader too and he shows the Ubuntu One Map but only with the undermap Shared to with only 4.0 KiB. So it is not complete.
Best regards
Einar
