restore backup on external disc externo to a new computer?

Hello nice free people... my problem is that I made a backup of my Ubuntu 14.04 lts on a Samsung D3 (2 TB) external HD; but my old computer burned; now I'm using another one with Ubuntu 16.04, but I can only see the files that are there and they are in duplicity-full.20161109T002751Z.manifest format, this is the first file the rest are in duplicity-full.20161109T002751Z.vol1.difftar.gz format, I copied the whole carpet to my system & I copied the whole carpet to my system & it filled it, so I had to return it because I could not unzip it, what interests me is only to recover some documents and some photos, but I can not see the files that I need to copy, please help me solve this setback.
