How do I get wireless working

Asked by imovesalot@yahoo.com

I just installed Ubuntu netbook remix, but I still don't understand what it is I need to do to get Ubuntu to detect my wireless setup. I rebooted with ethernet wire hooked up and I get internet, but I wanted to set up the wireless.
Thank you.

You will need a wireless card / dongle that works with ubuntu. What are to using at the moment? I bought a card and usb dongle of ebay and there both work from the box. http://seogadget.co.uk/how-to-setup-wireless-in-ubuntu/

Hi, this is a general Ubuntu question, not related to the Ubuntu One service.

Anyway, in addition to the page Jamiesdomain mentioned, you may find more documentation at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs .

Thanks for using Ubuntu One!

OK, I downloaded wifi radar to a usb drive and put it onto the laptop with ubuntu. I'm not sure what I did actually, but I am now getting wifi. Go figure.
Thank you very much for your help.
