Why did the client.... never work?

I upgraded from Jaunty to Karmic (because, surprise! The karmic disk's GRUB does NOT like my laptop), so I probably got a faulty combination of things here.

The Ubuntu One client NEVER worked right. Always said there was a fatal error. This is, by the way, not very user friendly language. At least say "Aw, shit!" or something a person would say. When someone drops their coffee, they never say "FATAL ERROR!".

Anyway, after a reinstall, got the FATAL ERROR again. So the client didn't work. It never worked right for me. Why?

And what do I have to do to make it work?

We're sorry Ubuntu One is not working for you, but we'll need more information to help you with your problem. I have opened bug #475051 with your report. If you could provide more specific information in the bug report that would be helpful.

A reboot fixed it.... Sorry to waste everyone's time.
