How can I readd computers to ubuntuone service?

Asked by Poltiser

I had a problem after successful use of the service - my computer stoped connecting after reinstall of Ubuntu... I can connect from Firefox and use the service (store files) but my folder and desktop don't connect? What should I do to regain service?
The add dialogue does not open and ... I end up with connected Firefox but disconnected desktop.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One is not working properly for you. Without additional information, I'm going to guess you were affected by a bug we just released a fix for. If you do an update I think you'll be able to use the service normally once again. If the update does not solve the problem for you, please report a bug by right-clicking on the Ubuntu One client and selecting "Report a Problem". Please include any additional information in that bug report that you may have (steps you took, errors you saw on screen, etc.) Thank you, Joshua

Thank you for your concern. I did download your update and it works well
on the laptop (U9.04-32) but applet on the desktop (U9.04-64) still does
not connect folder to the service (FireFox connection works very well...
Thank you.
PS. If you need extra information ask me specyfic questions as I am not
IT specialist...
Best regards

Hi, Can you right-click on the Ubuntu One client and select "Report a Problem" so that a bug is filed and we can get some further debugging information? Thank you, Joshua

I did and I will do again if it helps. I did upgrade to 9.1rc -> same
story... I can reach files trough FireFox but not trough applet (open
folder works but connect does not work)... Laptop is different (9.04x86)
with no problems... Since a week or so it does connect from the applet
and can synchronise.

I think this has been answered, and we'll diagnose any problems in the bug report.

Upgraded to U9.1-32 and U9.1-64 - same problem:
1. laptop connecting to domestic wireless router has gnome integration ok;
2. same laptop (Toshiba Satellite from 2002) using ethernet-HTC G3 wireless as a modem does not integrate to ubuntuone, but ubuntuone works well in Firefox;
3. desktop (intel core 2 duo 2GB RAM U9.1-64) - does not integrate Gnome to ubuntuone, does work well with ubuntuone using Firefox;

both computers are registered with UbuntuOne account.

Hi! Can you please paste the contents of the file .config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf ?

You should be having something like this:

nessita@dali:~$ cat .config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf
[bandwidth_throttling]
on = False
read_limit = 0
write_limit = 0

(throttling should be set to False due to a bug we're resolving)

Good luck!

Thank you a lot - it worked - after changing on=True to on=False I was
able to synchronise files between both computers and a cloud...

Polister,

Great! I'm glad it worked. In the mean time we're fixing the bug and making our best to ship the fix ASAP.
