Where do I enter my email and password in the client?

Asked by Damian Moore

There is no field in preferences and nothing obvious in Nautilus, just a 'connect' button that doesn't work!

I did not have to install it through the browser as I am using Karmic 9.10.

Make sure you have ubuntuone-client-tools installed, then click Applications > Internet > Ubuntu One. Firefox will then open and allow you to login to launchpad and connect.

(Note: Karmic 9.10 beta does not have ubuntuone-client-tools installed by default. See bug: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+bug/417664)

I, too, am using Karmic and having the same issue. I have installed ubuntuone-client-tools, but starting the Applications > Internet > Ubuntu One application doesn't cause Firefox to do anything; the icon just sits in the notification area with an X, and right-clicking on it then > Open Folder > Connect just sits there. There is a Go to Web option that takes me to the https://one.ubuntu.com/files/ page successfully, but there does not seem to be anything on there that looks like something I need to click on to make it "work."
