uploading entire folders or file structures

Asked by Martin Horseling

for one to be really useful, it would be nice to be able to synchronise entire structures of user files, or up /download entire folder.

For example, I work on three different computers in three different locations, when I move between them, I want to be able to upload an entire folder, then download it at the other end, make changes and send it back to the server. (saving time compared to individual files) Alternative is a stick, but they get lost and that can be a disaster as well.

another alternative would be unison, but I find it a terrible user unfriendly programme.

Anything like that possible? Thanks for looking into it.

Martin

In the 3 days I'm using U1 seem to work as you expect.
When you add files in ~/UbuntuOne folder, theese are uploaded to the server, also folders.
You must be patient, uploading is not fast, at least with my internet connection (1Mb/512Kb).
Recomended not to connect 2 or more computers at time, some conflict files can be generated.
When changes are done, only modified files are uploaded.

Hope this can help you.

I tried adding a softlink in the UbuntuOne folder, but nothing is uploading. Is this normal? Do I have to physically copy the file there?
