Any future support for ubuntu 8.04 LTS

I think the support for Ubuntu 8.04 LTS is a must as many users are sticking to the more trusted and secure environment.

Thank you for your question! We currently do not have plans to officially support 8.04 LTS, but that does not prevent other developers from backporting the Ubuntu One client to 8.04 LTS.
