How do I start Ubuntu one ?

Asked by Carter

I don't know what to do with this program.
Where is a tutorial with simple operating instructions ?
Each morning when we start up, my wifes machine does one thing (shows the splash page) but my machine does something else. (just starts running with no mention of Ubuntu One)

How should I start Ubuntu One ?
When I turn on my wife's computer the splash page comes up and says "Do you want to add this computer ... ?
If I say yes, things move on OK and all seems to work .. But does this add her computer to a long list that has nothing but her computer's name ?
Should I care ??

If I don't say yes, what should I do ??
If I X it out (Hit the X in the upper corner) what happens ? Does it start ? Does it work ? Does it shut down ?

With my machine the splash page doesn't come up. When I click on Ubuntu One in Applications > Internet, there is just a little panel named "Preferences" that comes up.
(The box marked "Start automaticly" in this panel is marked with a check mark.)
How do I make the splash page appear; or how should I start it ? ... or should I just go on and presume that Ubuntu One is running properly ?
I feel strongly that you need a document that would be "An idiot's guide to starting and running Ubuntu One."
Thanks. Carter

Dear Carter, recently I submitted a question similar to yours. Then I stumbled upon a possible clue. On the panel where your name or the name of your computer appears, if you click there you should see step one or a step one of entry to Ubuntu One. Still working on it myself.
