Sync with Ubuntu One and Nexus One will be available soon?
Is there any other means to sync them without crashing or data corruption in the meanwhile?

Currently, you can sync your contacts on the 50 GB plan. Also, there is an Android U1 client that is coming along nicely. it is in Beta if you wish to test it. http://wiki.ubuntu.com/AndroidU1
