Hi Indrani,

You are going to need to provide a lot more information before someone can even begin to answer this question.

Where do you see the error? what program are you trying to run? etc.

Hi Indrani,

This sounds like either you're having internet connectivity issues and/or dns problems. Are you behind a proxy server?

Thank you,

Joshua

Hi Indrani,

Unfortunately, Ubuntu One doesn't work with proxy servers like the one you're behind at your university. We are adding proxy support for Maverick.

For other applications you should be able to configure the proxy server authentication info at System->Preferences->Network Proxy Preferences and then next to the "HTTP Proxy" port number, click on the "Details" button. From there you need to check on the "Use authentication" check box and then enter your proxy username and password.

Thank you,

Joshua
