music store does not show up in rythmbox

Asked by Jamie Waldron

Hi. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 inside a VMWare virtual appliance. After installing the updates, I see the cloud icon that tells me that I am connected to Ubuntu One. However, I do not see my computer in the list of connected computers in my Account tab and I do not see Ubuntu One in the list of stores in Rythmbox. I've tried to uninstall both Rythmbox and Ubuntu One. Any ideas?

Hi Jamie,

Were you taken through the process to add your computer to your account as described here for Ubuntu 9.10 users? https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuOne/Tutorials/Install#Setup+instructions+for+Ubuntu+9.10+%28Karmic%29 If you did not go through that process successfully then Ubuntu One is not setup properly on your computer.

The Ubuntu One Music Store is only available on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS so you won't be able to use it on Ubuntu 9.10.

Thank you,

Joshua

Joshua,

Thanks. I misunderstood and thought that Ubuntu One and Ubuntu One Music were both available to the same versions. I now have a virtual machine of 10.04 installed and all is well.

Thanks,

Jamie
