Remove a folder

Asked by alefisico

Hi everyone.
I am fascinated with the ubuntu-one idea. Last week I started to use it but, as a novice, I made some mistakes with some folders. Then I realized, with some intrigued, that I do not have a remove folder option. I searched and searched and cannot found it.
I tried cancelling my subscription, reopen my account... just to saw that my folders were still there.

I found it some kind of weird that I cannot remove a folder as I want. Did I make something wrong or, actually, ubuntu one does not give the chance to remove a folder??

Thanks.

Hi! By removing a folder, I assume you mean a folder that you right-clicked on and selected to "Synchronize on Ubuntu One"? If so, you can remove this folder from the server by doing the following from a terminal session (Applications->Accessories->Terminal):

1. u1sdtool --list-folders
2. Copy the ID (after the "id=") for the folder you want to delete (example: id=96a9651a-accf-4caa-adf8-d13e74aaf4f7)
3. u1sdtool --delete-folder=COPIED-ID-FROM-STEP2

If you want to remove a folder within another folder that is being synchronized by Ubuntu One (e.g. ~/Ubuntu One/Some-Folder) then you should be able to simply delete that folder as you normally would and Ubuntu One will remove it from the server.

Thank you,

Joshua
