Add this Computer button
https:/
No add this computer button on this page... Where is it?
I think this page could be made easier to add computers to the list by having simple add additional computers icon on this page..
This could be made clearer for people new to the site (Ubuntuone)

I am facing the same problem.. I cannot add my system to the ubuntu one account. The support page https:/
I am not able to add my system from the client either. It would be great to have that option avaible in the client itself.
I am running in the same problem.
No possibility to add my computer.
Just installed Ubuntu 10.04. This is the first time I tried ubuntuone.
Please let me when there is a solution available.

Same with me... it worked with my first Ubuntu One computer, then when I tried to do it with another, I couldn't.
I thought it only worked with the first computer I used so I deleted my first computer from Ubuntu One.
Now I can't add either one!

I can confirm this issue as well. There is no 'Add this Computer' button from Step 8 of Installation Instructions (https:/

Same problem here. I just open a new account and I cannot add my computer since I cannot find any 'Add this Computer' button.
I, also, only had this problem after switching to 10.04 LTS. I really like this feature, and it should automatically detect when I am using a computer that is not already added. I deleted all instances of computers added. Now I have no computers associated with my account and it still does not detect my new machine.

You can't just go to a web page—especially a page that isn't meant for adding computers to Ubuntu One—and expect it to change something on your system. That would completely violate the security model. You need an authorization token, which is where the Ubuntu One program comes in.
In 9.10, go to Applications > Internet > Ubuntu One
In 10.04, go to System > Preferences > Ubuntu One, then switch to the Devices tab and click Connect.
Doing that will open the web page in your browser and send the appropriate authorization token. You may need to sign in/up first, but it will take you to the Confirm Computer Access page, which does have an Add This Computer button.

if that doesn't happen, you may install ubuntuone-

Working now ... after a system restart.
The Installation Instructions provided (https:/
After a restart and following Marc Stewart's method (I did not use the Ubuntu One support method this time) a web page did open and I was able to add a computer.
Basically, because I restarted the system, I cannot recreate the issue where the web page would not open. And this is where the process failed for me.
Simply a hiccup with Ubuntu or Firefox (or both) that was corrected via reboot.

Some users have reported problems with finding the "Add Your Computer" button in this process. We believe this is due to the Ubuntu One Preferences application (step 1 of https:/
1. close the Ubuntu One Preferences application window (if it's already open)
2. open your Terminal (located in Applications >> Accessories)
3. and type the following:
u1sdtool -q; killall ubuntuone-login; u1sdtool -c
This should force a web browser to open and put you at step 2 of the process. This is temporary measure so users can get up and running quickly. We will implement a more permanent fix for this problem soon.

If that is of interest to someone, my problem was not technical. It is related to the documentation available at https:/
From what I remember, I distractedly clicked on a "Suscribe [...]" button and then desperately searched for a "Add this Computer" button. The problem is that once the "Suscribe" button has been clicked, there is no mean to find a "Add this Computer" button. Once I figured that they were the same, step 9 (using Ubuntu One Preference) worked perfectly...
Apart from that small inconvenience, the Ubuntu One team did a good job!
It's working now.. Thank you..
Today I managed to get it work in a way as Marc Stewart described.
BUT I have to put an exception rule into plugin "NoScript" of Firefox.
ABE (Application Boundaries Enforcer) / SYSTEM / insert a new line
before:
# Prevent Internet sites from requesting LAN resources.
Site LOCAL
Accept from LOCAL
Deny
after:
# Prevent Internet sites from requesting LAN resources.
Site LOCAL
Accept from LOCAL
Accept from one.ubuntu.com
Deny
ABE is still active
sites are not allowed to use their own rulesets.
Is this the right (secure) way?

Here I have the same problem. Now, the delete PC button is there and it works fine... Anyway, any info is greatly appreciated.
Can you help with this problem?
Provide an answer of your own, or ask pst007x for more information if necessary.
