installation does not work ubuntu 9.04 - 64

Asked by Ulf Richter

hello,

i installed ubuntu one on 2 computers, a laptop and a a pc, but it does not work on both of them.
i signed up for ubuntu one, created my account and installed the ubuntu one software as described on the installaiton site. i get the icon in system - preferences, but when i click on the icon it tells me in the status bar "ubntu one is starting" but then it disappears.
So I can't add my computers to ubuntu one
Systems:
Ubuntu 9.04 - 64 bit on both machines
firefox 3.5 / shireteko 3.5.8 as my browser (the one and only ones 8))) )

the hint given in an answer to start the browser using a terminal session an put in a command like "x? https://one.ubuntu.com/support/" works fine. it starts firefox and it displays the correct website.

thanks in advance for your help
Ulf

Hi Ulf,

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with Ubuntu One. I'm guessing you're being affected by the following bug: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+bug/535207 Please see the bug description for a workaround. If that does not solve the problem, please file a bug at https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+filebug and be sure to attach the log files from ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log to the bug report.

Thank you,

Joshua
