Asked by Milardo

Does Ubuntu latest version include drivers for hardware components of my computer, does it get them when you update Ubuntu, or do you have to look for them?

I already installed Ubuntu latest version. To connect to internet I use Linksys Compact Wireless-G USB adapter WUSB54GCv1.0. On windows xp you have to install a program before connecting the adapter. Linksys doesn't offer a linux driver, so I am wondering do I just connect the adapter and is there a program on Ubuntu to manage the wireless connection?

Try and install networkmanager to run the wireless threw. Most wireless work by default after installing networkmanager on Ubuntu.

Just select it from the menu, or:

1. Press Alt+F2 (the 'run application window' will show up)
2. In the 'run application window', type:
    gnome-terminal (and press enter)

is ubuntu compatible with component drivers and periferals such as printer software, mobile phone software, as I tried to use ubuntu once before and was not able to load my printer software and other software, which is why I loaded ubuntu once and never used it again? What about component driver updating, as through windows this was done automatically, is this the case with ubuntu? Also, what about games, can games be loaded and played like war games etc..? I have found nothing referring to these questions through the ubuntu site and do not want to waste my time wiping my system if I cannot use programs that I normally use, like Printmaster, picasa 3, google, ask and other desktop publishing software....
