Ubuntu superuser,how to log in

Asked by John Adsit

trying to mount 2nd hard drive disk, log in as /root, when I try to mount disk, get error message you do not have permission to acces /dev/hdc.
I am new to the terminal command line, but have the info for mounting the 2nd hard drive disk. I am looking for a hard copy of mammual on ubuntu terminal command language , so that I may teach myself how to use & work with terminal in U buntu & correct the issue of do not have permission to access /dev/hdc.
