Firefox Flash plug-in hangs

Asked by Roger Jamieson

I cannot download the Flash plug-in for Firefox. While I realize this is most likely *not* a Ubuntu issue (rather Firefox), I am still left unable to download or install the Flash plug-in for Firefox. The Firefox download manager simply hangs after only 1% or 2%.

Downloads from other sites blaze along, no problem.

Can anyone direct me to another resource for the plug-in?

Have you tried downloading it using Synaptic?

1. Open Synaptic "System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager"
2. Click on "Settings > Repositories"
3. Under the "Internet Updates" check "Backported updates"
4. Click "Close"
5. Click "Reload" in Synaptic.
6. Search for "flashplugin-nonfree" [Don't include the quotes]
7. Right click the package and choose "Mark for installation"
8. Click "Apply" in the main synaptic window.

The Flash 9 plugin should now work in Firefox...

I have Feisty Fawn 4 and have the same problem. Firefox and Opera hang with any version of flash plugin. Libflash-Mozplugin, Adobe flash, or flashplugin-nonfree. They all hang the browser.

here is what I want to watch:
