Mapped Memory

Asked by waveblaster

Can anyone tell me if this has been built using mapped memory? It seems that I still need to change my shared memory settings.

Also, is there a way to edit your questions? I posted this on another by accident :(. Thanks.

Can you expand on mapped memory. If you mean like pagefile in Windows, Linux uses the swap partition and the installer will assign a suitable amount for you. You can resize partitions to add more swap space.

If I am way off, please clarify the question

I am asking if when this package was built if the option

 --enable-mmap=yes

was used to enable mapped memory instead of having to tweak shared memory settings in /etc/sysctl.conf.

I'd compile it yourself if its important. You can contact the MOTU via

<email address hidden>

They may reply. Or use:

Can you help with this problem?
