Authentication required to mount second hard drive

Asked by Jan Greeff

My second hard drive used to be a click away, but since Ubuntu downloaded upgrades yesterday I have been unable to access the second hard drive on my system. The message I get is "Unable to mount drive. Authentication required" but there is no link or tab to insert a password. Is the problem linked to the updates or is it a co-incidence? And what steps do you suggest to solve the problem?

First thing I would check is "GNOME Authorizations" (run »polkit-gnome-authorization« in a shell). There you can also change permissions for mounting media.
