Thank you for your response. I use VMware workstation.
And now,I always get black screen ,without any prompt. I don't know How I can do with it, Maybe I have to create another new Ubuntu GOS.

I am sorry, I use Virtual Box and can not help you.
If you get directly a black screen, without the menu to choose the operating system,
I'am affraid the simple is to reinstall, if you have no data to recover.
Else I can perhaps help you to recover the data.

 Thanks for your help
Yes.I just reinstall the system ,there is no data to recover since I never
have time to do any more things with it :-)
I don't know if it is a ubuntu issue or a VM issue, But I get low grapic
mode many times ...during I use Ubuntu system ,It is trouble with me.

Which is the guest computer, and which release of operating system ?
For Ubuntu guest, which kernel (the last ?) ?
I can try to install VmWare on my computer if it is Vista, XP or Ubuntu kernel 2.6.31-19-generic.

Hi delance,Thanks very much for your kindly help and detail info.

Below is my info:
Using win7 OS as the HOST computer .
The VM version is workstation 7.0.1 with the tools. And the Ubuntu guest is 9.10,Ubuntu kernel 2.6.31-14-generic.
And After I reinstall Ubuntu yesterday, the issue has gone away.
