You run a business and you ask for help with that grammar? Pull yourself together. Can you try and be more descriptive so people can help you? You come across as a child and your post makes no sense. What did you "addsomestuff"

OK, sorry I was in Ubuntu and I went to system,administration,and boot settings or something, and under boot menu I turned number of boot menus or something to 0 (I don't remember everything I pushed, and I can't look because I cant open my OS) I was trying to change something in the boot menu and now i cant use my computer, I am using a live CD to ask this. HOW DO I CHANGE THIS NUMBER BACK TO NORMAL?!?!?!?

It's ok don't be sorry, it's just that if you wanted help you had to be more specific. I do not know what you did exactly and there is nothing in my system> admin menu regarding boot options. In the livecd mount your partittions writable and try reinstalling grub by running the command "update-grub2" no quotes. To mount your partitions view your partitions by typing more /etc/fstab and mount each. For example.

more /etc/fstab
# / was on /dev/sdb1 during installation
UUID=850c7a26-e232-4d60-a76e-93967034bf76 / ext4 errors=remount
-ro 0 1

mount /
mount /boot (if it exists. I dont know how you partitioned your system.)

update-grub2

I don't know if this will fix your problem as your still not being very specific as to what you did, but it's a start. It is going to update your grub configuration and hopefully overwrite whatever it was you did. It's a crapshoot but without knowing exactly what you did and not being there myself like I said it's a start.

Your best option is to boot from the livecd like you are able to do and are doing right now as you post to me, and mount your file systems. Find whatever it was you edited which is daunting; I know.. You edited it in a GUI, meaning a pretty window. But that pretty window edited a file probably a simple text one. The only problem I have here is I don't even know what you edited via the GUI not to mention the file the GUI edited. If you can be as specific as possible and do your best to tell me what you mucked around in, I can probably figure out what text file it edited. Then I can have you change it back. Looking in my system>admin menu there is nothing there regarding boot options, all I see is BootUpManager but I installed that myself. Going in recovery mode isnt going to be any different from what your able to do with the livecd right now, but you can certainly try maybe it will do something I dont know about, but I doubt it. Try and think of what you did and tell me, anything is a clue. Telling me anything is better than nothing. I understand its hard to remember but youll have to try. In the future, I try to limit myself to changing one or tops two system vital (sketchy)things at a time, so I know right where to look if something goes wrong. You should do this as well in the future. Now write back with your best response and i'll continue to try and help you.

Try and mount that in the background, while you answer my previous two posts the best you can. Even if it mounted right now neither one of us know what to do until I know what you did, and answer my questions. (to the best of your ability.) You haven't had a computer since last night let's get you rolled out.
