scheduler used in ubuntu

which type of schedular is used in ubuntu and why it is choosen?
why not other is choosen

You'd have to ask why others are not chosen by default, directly to canonical

You can use any scheduler you desire or can find. Linux is flexible so will be able to run anything you can find and correctly install.

You can easily use 'cron' for regular jobs (daily, weekly, every 9 hours etc) or 'at' for a one shot action to be ran in the future.

also there is fcron if you want you can install it through synaptic
