xubuntu acer notebook battery will not charge any more

i installed xubuntu on my acer notebook everything worked fine for a month and then one night i was on the internet my battery was fully charged so i unplugged it about 15-20 later it just shut off so i pluged it back up turned it back on and got on the internet again and let my battery charge some more about three hours later the battery icon still showed that is was still dead so i highlighted the battery icon and it said 0% battery is empty system is running on AC power and it has been that way for about a week now it will not charge at all any more and i have no idea what the problem is i want to know if its because of xubuntu or if it is my battery or if the computer wont give the battery a charge.
so if any one know whats goen on or knows how to fix it please help me,and thank you

Do U have aircraft-manager installed !?
If yes, so just disable Airplane Mode for charging purpose.

could u provide output from terminal:

$ sudo cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/info

and

sudo cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state

note: BAT1 can be BAT0 or something else ... try change if not working =). just check

$ ls -l /proc/acpi/battery
