problem with system date

i set sytem date with date command as well as hwclock command.........it sets the time at that instant........but when i restart my pc......time is not correct......
thaking you to read question n trying to answer it.

i am using dual boot pc...............
its windows xp with ubuntu 9.10
but when i uninstall xp even after that the same problem exists.

Please tell what mean not correct...?
Then please tell are you using a dualboot pc...?
Do you have this issue just booting in Ubuntu after a Windows session...?
