You cannot - however, you also don't need to.

Due to the way Linux in constructed, and the way it's file security systems are set up, Virus and Spyware infection is not a problem.

Ubuntu does a pretty good job all on its own, without the need for third party programs.

Hi :)

You can install "Adblock Plus" although this is really just an Addon for Firefox (or other web-browser). Either use the regular package managers or in firefox use the Help menu - Addons to search for it.

Some links in support of tjagoda assertions

Possibly you might want to use an anti-virus program, i recommend ClamAv but here's a list

Ubuntu includes a firewall but you might want to install a front-end for it if you need to turn some features off to access your network more easily. People mostly seem to choose "Firestarter" as the front-end

If you are new to linux then this link might be useful

Also it is wise to run through the medibuntu worksheet to deal with copywrite issues and get all your multimedia working. People often forget to do this and there is no harm running through it a second time or just to make sure everything got covered

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
