Octoshape does not appear to be a linux program? What does it do? Perhaps it would be better to try to finda native linux equivalent as they tend to do the job better
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SwitchingToUbuntu/FromWindows

Alternatively you might try installing Wine. Wine Is Not an Emulator as it uses a much more sophisticated approach to run Windows programs faster without putting an extra layer between the program and the machine.

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

basically get the plugin from here
http://www.octoshape.com/index.php?page=get_octo/get_octo
follow step one and then to use - get link from wherever or showcase and run from terminal

Ex. using link for radio paradise
aac link is
octoshape:PARADISE.stream1_aac
mp3 link is
octoshape:PARADISE.stream1_mp3
so for aac stream

doug@doug-laptop:~/octoshape$ ./OctoshapeClient -url:octoshape:PARADISE.stream1_aac
Status: Reading configuration
Status: Registering plugins.
Status: Ready to play
Status: Playing

Wow! This is looking great. So is it a back-end movie player or is it just a back-end for watching movies over the internet?

Good to see native support for Linux, Mac & Windows
