I heard a terrible crash in the sound during the game, and after several minutes of this cod sound disappears altogether.

Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala Linux 2.6.31-17-generic.
I heard terrible crash in a sound during the game. And after 3-4 minutes these crash, sound in the game disappears absolutely.
What i must doing?

I have changed the pulseaudio process priority and the problem with the sound is almost gone, but very rarely, I still hear a faint crackling in the sound during the game.

try:

killall pulseaudio; rm -rf ~/.pulse*

Then press ALT+F2

type:
pulseaudio

Press enter

Change the priority pulse to how it was originally
