problem with installing java and jcreator: End-of-central-directory signature not found

Asked by Harpreet Singh Gill

Thanks Guys for responding, but problem is that even after downloading Java and JCreator on Ubuntu 9.10, a message like this appears on screen,
                              Archive: /home/glen/Desktop/jcrea450_setup.exe
                             [/home/glen/Desktop/jcrea450_setup.exe]
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
zipinfo: cannot find zipfile directory in one of /home/glen/Desktop/jcrea450_setup.exe or
/home/glen/Desktop/jcrea450_setup.exe.zip, and cannot find /home/glen/Desktop/jcrea450_setup.exe.ZIP, period.

Hello it seems you only managed to download 99.999 % of it. This is the reason why it tells you multi-part archive. This happens often when download items and you get small chunks of it bit by bit untill all the bits are downloaded it puts it all together to make a whole. A good example would be torrent files.

Try again to download it either using curl or wget as they are more reliable to gather all the files to make a whole.

All the best :)
