Mouse has mind of its own for over a year now!

Listen this really suxs I have no clue why my mouse dose this but every time I click some thing, the mouse wants to go Top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right, or right directly in the center and stays their even if you move it it will want to stay their for about 3 seconds, if any one can help I would greatly appreciate it cause I'm going mad trying to figure this out, I useing ubuntu 8.10 and I have a Kensington wireless mouse.

Can you tell us what you already have tried to resolve the issue, thanks.
system preferences -> mouse
e.g.
disable: show mouse position when ctrl is pressed
and test other options available.

Is the correct device assigned in
system preferences -> bluetooth

Is Compiz -> visual effects active?
Is CCSM (compizconfig-settings-manager) installed?
If yes, disable 'Mous polling'.
Or disable visual effects at all, to see if it gets better.

Is anything related to mouse errors in Xorg.0.log?
grep EE /var/log/Xorg.0.log
