CD with pictures, can't open: content unreadable

Ubuntu 9.10.
When I mount a CD with pictures, it can't open. It says Content unreadable. And it seams as its no files on it, but my grandmother made it in to hear computer (an XP). Don't know which info you need to help me. I am glad fore all response.

Maybe Grandmother made a mistake, Ubuntu is able to read cd's made with xp check cd in a windows machine.
Also once cd is placed in cd rom right click it and check properties check amount of space used and number of files on the cd.
In terminal Applications - Accessories - Terminal type or copy and paste the following command. sudo mount /media/cdrom0/ -o unhide it will ask for password you will not see anything, press enter.
